Thanks for sharing with us! I chuckled when I saw your comment about being sick of your clothes by the end of your trip. That is so TRUE! Packing light means less clothes and recycling them more, but it is definitely worth not have to lug a bunch of luggage around, right? Happy Travels! 🙂

It’s easy to under estimate how much time you’ll spend on your feet, indoors and out. Estimate five miles a day. It gets easier every day but hard on young children. Backpacks are a super travel tool, but don’t be ridiculous about carrying too much. I’m seventy + years old and in non-athelete shape. I travel with younger people and am always behind, at my own pace. I pay attention to weather reports and pack a rain cape from IKEA if it’s supposed to pour. Otherwise, just my rain jacket. Thermal wear packs much better than a heavy sweater, but if you are concerned about fashion, lighten up! You’re going to be sick and tired of the clothes you packed, just a warning, if you stay a-field longer than two weeks. Travel apps are a big help. Wash machines in Europe can be quite a puzzle, and look for a lint filter AND a water gatherer on dryers!! My husband “tracks ” me on his IPhone and has gotten me on the right bus going the right way more than once! And, be patient with fellow walkers. In the U.S. we tend to walk the way we drive. Nordic folks are bikers. U.K.Folks…well, they’re on the metric system and drive funny! Enjoy
